SPECIAL EVENTS

Field Trip to Gooseberry Falls State Park

No talks are scheduled for the afternoon of Tuesday, July 17. Instead, there will be a field trip to Gooseberry Falls State Park. The park is situated on the northern shore of Lake Superior in the Arrowhead region of northeastern Minnesota about 40 miles from Duluth. It is well-known amongst former Duluth REU participants for its spectacular waterfalls.

Information concerning the cost, which will cover bus transportation and a boxed lunch, will soon be available on the Registration page.

Conference Banquet

There will be a conference banquet to honor Joseph Gallian on the evening of Wednesday, July 18. The banquet will be held on the campus of the University of Minnesota Duluth. Information concerning the cost, which will include a vegetarian option, will soon be available on the Registration page.


	The conference is supported by the National Security Agency and the Department of Mathematics and Statistics at the University of Minnesota Duluth. Some funds will be available for participant support costs, especially for students and recent Ph.D.s.
