Co-Curricular
Swans, elephants, toucans, and dragons – Oh My! The fall co-curricular serves as an introduction to Origami, the Japanese art of folding paper. The class begins with an introduction to basic folds and forms and progresses in difficulty during the course of the semester. We cover a variety of patterns including animals, flowers, decorative boxes, and modular projects! The spring co-curricular is for intermediate to advance progjects. Students are encouraged to work through complex models and design an original project. Students are also encouraged to contribute two personal projects to an exhibit in the Academic Centater at Olin.

Students who have a great deal of origami experience, or “Origamians,” are encouraged to sign-up for either co-curricular offering. Origamians are encouraged to help teach those who are new to the art while pursuing their own projects.
A new origami co-curricular is planned for the future. Learn the fundamentals so that you can take advantage of future classes in origami math, geometry, and design.
